Welcome to this blog which is dedicated to the discussion of the many English translations of the scriptures. My interest was first peaked in this topic as I studied the topic of Greek manuscripts and the New Testament. In my research, I unearthed the little-known fact that there are a plethora of English translations of the scriptures, i.e. no fewer than 300, which is the list that I have compiled. What is the point of all these translations? Why should we need so many?
It was these questions and others that I have been thinking about since I started to build up my Bible collections. I now have nearly 60 different English translations, and it grows, albeit by now slowly, as the days go by.
So that is what this is about, and really, I don't care if no one actually reads any of these entries. I just want a place to store all these thoughts.
